Have you ever observed that concepts are no the same with words? For example for some concepts we have 1 word: example “armchair”, but for a feeling “the joy of remembering the first kiss with the loved one” you need many words ![]()
But if we try to summarize the medieval epoque, what words can we use?
I though of a few:
- knights
- religion
- castles
- fairies
- torture
- sword
- magician
- abbey
What more do you what to add to list, that defines ‘medieval epoque”?

A friend from renaissance dance group Passeggio, told me about a wonderful occasion to experience the medieval setting during winter.
At Gyula, in Hungary, near the border with Romania, it is organized a Medieval Carnival between 5-7 February 2010, and we are all invited. Starting with 2004, the city of Gyula is organizing the event, and for this year the program seems full of surprises.
Medieval music , old crafts and battle simulations, with artists from all over the world. But for me I think the joy will be the renaissance ball, where I can learn to dance in the old style ;).

I have heard a lot of “historical truths” about meaning of Christmas, and the story of Saturnalia is one of it. Maurizio Iacono (Ex Deo band member) drew my atention on the subject:
Saturnalia was a Roman holiday marking the winter solstice. It was name after the Roman god Saturn, as a god of seed and planting. Saturnalia was the most popular holiday of the Roman year. The Roman pagan holiday mixed with the christian holiday, during the centuries to come.
Sometimes is a good thing to realize the origins of our traditions, in order to understand our ancestors, but most importanly to be tolerant with new ideas and traditions.
Happy Holidays to all!

Sunet bun , voci superbe, repertoriu divers….
De aici incolo eram deja plecata in calatorie prin Europa din sudul Italiei, Galitia, Franta, Maramures , sec XIII, sec XIV, colinde romanesti si franceze. “Busuioc de voie buna… Ramai gazda sanatoasa…

By crusing the internet I came across a wonderful settlement in Iassy (Iasi, Romania), a medieval castle building in our days by Fedeles husbands. Gigi and Carmen Fedeles created a fairtale land , and transformed their dream in a weading land and party.
The restaurant is great and their offer of special events at your wedding includes medieval chefs, dwarfs bufon and special effects.
If you are looking for a special event setting or just an escape for daily routine, “Cavalerul Medieval Castle” is the place for you
And to see for yourself, check out this site : Castel Cavalerul medieval
( Conference room especially for business meetings or seminars)
I would be curious to ask the Fedeles Husbands what made them invest in this idea , and what they love most in the medieval concept.
On the other hand, the medieval setting is quite generous in creating a special atmosphere
Don`t you just love the old style of clothing? Do you like to have your own Renaissance/Medieval outfit ?
Have you ever thought about creating cloths from Renaissance Fabrics ? Brocade, satin, silk, handcrafted pieces which can make every one a king/queen.
Do you have a special event to attend to and you would like something special to wear ? Maybe you should consider creating your own design (with the help of specialists) and be UNIQUE.
An example of this oportunity:

You can buy this Fabrics here and much more patterns here : Renaissance-Fabrics
